The ceremony will be hosted by Gavin Wood, and we will also hear from the chairman of ALDE, Sehon Pellew.

Meet The Executive Committee

A big thank you to our executive committee who have made the awards possible. The committee consists of up to 12 members and is responsible for the administration of the Association. A key part of this is to deliver the Association’s objectives and to facilitate communication throughout the membership base that will achieve outcomes that are beneficial to our members and to the wider Land Development sector.

SEHON PELLEW

PRESIDENT

With more than 18 years of experience in the engineering sector in technical and managerial roles across various size professional consultancies from smaller specialists firms, medium to large to multinational companies. Sehon is responsible for overseeing the company wide operations of Millar Merrigan and managing a large and diverse team across both offices. He excels at reviewing processes, developing strategies, improving performance, planning and overseeing organisation transformation. As the current President of ALDE, Sehon strives to expand the knowledge and reach of the industry and support its members to grow professionally.

GORDON TEMPLETON

EXECUTIVE MEMBER

Since commencing work in private practice in 1983, Gordon has gained extensive experience in project investigations, project management, feasibility, detail design, contract administration. This knowledge has been gained and applied to numerous projects including residential and commercial land development, infrastructure, unit development and land development projects. Gordon is involved in the Association of Land Development Engineers (ALDE) the peak body representing land development consulting engineers. Gordon joined the Board in 2006 and has played an active role in the Association and is currently the Treasurer. He is passionate about providing a forum for professional engineering consultancies, to represent the interests of the land development consultant industry amongst all forms of government agencies and other organizational bodies and is continuing the advocacy work that he started in his term as President of ALDE.

ANTHONY GRODZKI

MEMBER

Anthony is a Director of Urban Design and Management and has over 30 years' experience in the land development industry both as a contractor and consultant. Anthony has been ALDE's key liaison officer with Powercor over the past years where significant change has been instigated for the benefit of the development industry. Anthony is passionate about influencing the development of practical and safe construction standards which he has achieved in ALDE's review of the MRWA Standard drawings.

ANTHONY O'DWYER

MEMEBER

Anthony O’Dwyer is a Civil Engineer holding a Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering with over 13 years experience in the Melbourne Land Development industry. Anthony is currently the Construction Delivery Manager of Taylors managing a team of 9 Engineers. Taylors’ Engineering and Project management team comprises some 40 engineering professionals and sits within the larger Taylors organisation of over 150 people. Anthony has extensive experience delivering both residential and commercial land development projects, as well as in the infrastructure, sporting and racing industries. Anthony has expertise in construction coordination and surveillance, tendering, contract preparation and management & OHS assessments.

RODNEY JACKSON

EXECUTIVE MEMBER

Rod Jackson holds a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from RMIT and has worked in various consultant and client roles in the Melbourne urban development industry over 34 years. Rod has represented ALDE on various committees and forums since the early days of the organisation, was a Director of the UDIA for 8 years and is current Immediate-past President of ALDE.  Rod is currently Leader of the Urban Development team in Victoria for Calibre Group.

MARK WHALEN

EXECUTIVE MEMBER

Mark is the ex-president of ALDE and was the recipient of the Bill Foley award for services to the industry. Mark’s ability to operate effectively in demanding environments, and his technical capability and comprehensive understanding of the infrastructure and land development industries offers clients the high level strategic, commercial and technical advice that is required for complex, multi-disciplinary projects. Mark provides services to both the public and private sector and has successfully delivered projects for over 45 years at local, state and federal levels. Projects have encompassed a wide range of residential & industrial developments and major civil infrastructure projects. He appreciates the challenges that are encountered when dealing with government procedures and readily works with all parties in a highly collaborative manner

CHRIS CATHCART

MEMEBER

Commencing at SMEC as an engineering graduate in 2010, Chris has now over 12 years’ experience in the industry, contributing to the design and delivery of numerous major housing estates in Melbourne as both the lead design engineer and project manager. With his experience and passion for growth and development of staff, Chris has recently been promoted to the manager of SMEC’s urban engineering design team, leading a team of over 40 employees. Chris initially became involved in the ALDE training subcommittee in 2019, and has since joined the ALDE Executive Committee in 2021.

QUOK HO

MEMEBER

Quok is a principal consultant with over 16 years experience in the land development industry. He started his professional career in designing development infrastructure services before specialising in stormwater assessment and strategies. The last few years, Quok has returned back into the holistic management of land development projects and focusing on project management, feasibility studies and authority liaison. Quok has been an Executive Committee member of the Association of Land Development Engineers (ALDE) in the past 3 years. He is currently supporting various technical sub-committees including YEiLD, Regional LGA Tech, ALDE’s internal Media and Comms, and Membership sub-committees.

DAVID CAMERON

MEMBER

David is a Principal Engineer at Spiire with over  35 years' experience in the land development industry. David is passionate about ensuring that land development projects are well planned and provide sustainable engineering solutions. David has been instrumental in the review of technical documents for ALDE prior to the release of new technical standards to the industry by the various Authorities.

MARK FLEMING

EXECUTIVE MEMBER

Mark has over 20 years of professional experience in civil engineering, working for both private consultancies and local government. Following a strong foundation in local government he developed expertise in consulting with extensive experience in the provision of project management and engineering advice for many of Melbourne’s largest land development projects and development companies. His career has transitioned into a senior management role that allows him to develop and implement strategy at a company level while maintaining a focus on developing and engaging staff, resulting in the growth of the business and a reputation for achieving results for our clients. Mark has been on the Executive Committee of ALDE since 2013, which allows him to give back to the industry which he finds particularly rewarding.

Karen has been the Executive Officer of ALDE for 20 years. She has previously held Executive Assistant positions with a global mechanical & electrical engineering company, an international seating manufacturer, an international pharmaceutical company and an international safety association.

CRAIG DOUBLEDAY

MEMEBER

Craig has 15 years of experience working in land development consulting in both Melbourne and Regional Victoria, spanning greenfield & brownfield developments ranging from rural living to industrial to residential estates. He manages the land development design team in the Melbourne office of Beveridge Williams, comprising approximately 40 engineers and associated staff. His interests include building and leading teams to deliver high quality engineering outcomes, and mentoring & developing staff to reach their true potential.

TONY ILIJOSKI

MEMEBER

Tony has over 17 years’ experience managing projects of varying sizes from different civil engineering disciplines. Tony experience includes liaising with the contractors from a very early stage of construction till completion of works as Superintendents Representative for the works. Tony has extensive industry experience in providing efficient Project Management on a timely basis to achieve outcomes under budget. Tony has significant experience in the construction management of major road and services infrastructure for land development projects.

ADAM KING

Adam is a engineering project manager with Breese Pitt Dixon with 14 years of experience in the land development industry working on some of the largest projects in Melbourne’s growth corridors.

Adam has been an Executive Committee member of the Association of Land Development Engineers (ALDE) since 2019 and currently sits on the Hydraulic Services and Safety & Environment sub-committees.
