If you need immediate event support, please find the events team via chat by clicking to the 'Virtual Lobby', navigating to the top right 'INBOX' and searching for 'Event Support' to start a chat with someone from the team. 

How to navigate in this event platform?

BEFORE YOU LOG ON

Access requirements

  • To ensure you have a stable and seamless experience, we recommend opening the virtual venue on a Chrome Browser
     

  • If you are located in China, you will require a VPN to access the platform. You can use FortiClient in your student portal. 
     

  • Please note that phones and tablets (including iPads, Microsoft Surface Pro and Chromebooks) have limited functionality.

Before you log on

  • Close all other programs and apps on your computer, especially those with access to
    your camera.

  • Ensure your camera and mic access is on, to check please refer to this document.

Log on

  • Use the link that was shared in your email to log on. If you have not received the email, please contact the events team at truongj@unimelb.edu.au

NAVIGATING THE VIRTUAL LOBBY

UPDATING YOUR PROFILE
 

  • Click on the 'My Account' tab 

  • Click 'Edit' on the right-hand side

  • You can update your profile picture, and edit your details

  • Remember to click 'Done' to save your changes

PRE-EVENT PROGRAM

Before the event begins, you may wish to: 

Test the networking feature 

  • Pop into the network room and see who else is around early to chat before the event.

Take a photo at the virtual photobooth!

  • Click on the 'photo booth' room in the virtual lobby. Here you will be able to take photos, which will upload to an online gallery

  • You can also create stickers of yourself that other guests can add to their own photo, so it looks like you are together in one frame

  • If you don't want to do this, click 'skip' and head straight to taking a photo

VISITING STUDENT EXPOS

  • Head to the 'Virtual Lobby' activities tab, scroll across to either: 

5:20pm - 5:40pm: Challenges 1 - 4 Open 

6:10pm - 6:30pm: Challenges 5 - 7 Open 

When you click on the tab, you'll be able to identify the rest of the rooms, from here you can choose which room you would like to visit. Students will be available to chat to you in these rooms.

DURING 'INDUSTRY ROUND TABLE'

  • Head to the 'Virtual Lobby' tab and click on the Industry Round Table room of your choice.

  • Once you enter a room you are welcome to chat or raise your hand if you wish to come on stage to ask your question.

What to do after the ceremony

  • You can choose to connect with other attendees by finding them in the 'Networking area on the top right

  • Search their name, click and select to meet or chat

  • *Please note, this function is only compatible with laptops, no tablets or phones

Look out for notifications

  • There may be times throughout the day where the event team will send you venue notificationa. This will have a ping sound  and will pop up on your top right hand corner. This will help remind you of where you need to go, or whether a session is about to start.

  • Once you enter a room, you will be notified whether the session started or not. 

  • You can see a small red 'LIVE' icon beside the session(s) that has started.
