Jane Black

Careers Specialist, University of Melbourne

Jane is a Careers Specialist within the University of Melbourne’s Careers and Employability team. Her career has focused on working with people to develop the knowledge and skills they need to flourish in work and life.  From working with early school leavers on finding their first job to University students deciding on next steps, she draws on skills in developing personalized and practical strategies to support early career journeys.  With qualifications in education and career development, she has delivered programs focused on mentoring and workplace skills, developed career learning curriculum and implemented initiatives to lift student employability.

Skye Wu

Associate Director, KordaMentha (previous STEM mentor)

Skye Wu is currently an associate director in cyber security at KordaMentha. She has over 15 years of experience in cyber security, digital forensics, electronic discovery and internal investigations. Skye began her career as a Digital Forensic analyst for the Victoria Police assisting police investigations with digital forensic analysis and presenting evidence in court. She also has experience in the consulting world, using digital forensics, electronic discovery and investigation skills to help clients through various challenges.

Skye joined Telstra's Cyber Security in 2014, in her time there she helped to build an open source intelligence capability and a threat discovery capability that takes a proactive stance on identifying and managing business risks that are unknown and unseen by security detections or controls.

Chetan Beeravelli

Project Manager, Midson Victoria (ABP mentor)


Chetan is a registered commercial builder with the Victorian Building Authority and works as a Project Manager at Midson Construction. He is a highly educated construction professional, with a Master’s in Construction Management from the University of Melbourne and holds a bachelor’s degree in Architecture from India. Having a wide range of skill sets, Chetan is passionate about optimizing the construction process through efficient management, effective design, and ground-breaking research.

Chetan has worked on various tasks ranging from designing, quantity surveying, estimating, administering, and project management which allowed him to be adept at working in various roles with diverse clients, under tight deadlines and synergistic solutions.

Tommy Tran

Current student, Bachelor of Science (previous Access Connections mentee & current Ask Alumni mentee)

Completed a bachelor’s degree in science, majoring in Physics, Tommy is currently participating in the Vietnamese Museum Australia program where his focus is on research about the history of Vietnamese refugees in Victoria.

Tommy’s passions include research in astronomy, learning about history as well as volunteering in the Vietnamese community. In his free time, Tommy enjoys reading, looking up at the night sky with his telescope and walking in nature. Tommy is an advocate for environmental sustainability and aspires to work in environmental science.

Sarah Banks

Director of Alumni Relations, University of Melbourne

With over 19 years of leadership experience in Alumni Relations, Sarah has expertise in developing and delivering successful engagement programs in both mature and younger advancement operations within Australia. As Deputy Director Alumni Relations, heading up the Alumni Relations program at the University of Melbourne, Sarah is responsible for strategy development and implementation to engage a global alumni community of over 450,000 alumni in the life of the University.

Along with an amazing team of Advancement professionals at Melbourne, Sarah has driven a public alumni engagement target as part of the successful Believe campaign which concluded at the end of 2021. The campaign raised over $1 billion while engaging over 100,000 individual alumni as ambassadors, volunteers and donors.

Coupled with her experience heading up Alumni Relations for Victoria University and William Angliss Institute, Sarah also has an extensive corporate background in recruitment and HR, both in Australia and the UK.
